The landscape of West London’s luxury hospitality has officially entered a transformative new chapter. Six Senses, a jewel in IHG Hotels & Resorts’ Luxury & Lifestyle portfolio, has unveiled its highly anticipated first UK property: Six Senses London.

Breathing vibrant new life into the historic structure of the former Whiteley’s department store on Queensway, this opening marks a monumental milestone. As of 1 March 2026, the property stands as a cornerstone of the brand’s expanding urban collection, seamlessly carrying the signature Six Senses DNA from sun-soaked islands and remote mountain peaks straight into the beating heart of the cosmopolitan capital.

An Urban Sanctuary with Heritage Roots at Six Senses London

Occupying an entire quarter of The Whiteley—a masterful mixed-use development positioned moments from the tranquility of Hyde Park and the vibrant lanes of Notting Hill—Six Senses London beautifully bridges history with contemporary wellness.

Designed by AvroKO in collaboration with EPR Architects, the hotel’s spaces pay elegant homage to the building’s original Art Deco heritage while incorporating conscious modern design.

  • Accommodations: 109 meticulously designed bedrooms and suites, many boasting expansive private terraces.

  • Branded Residences: 14 ultra-luxury Six Senses branded residences, offering a permanent foothold in this landmark address.

  • Urban Biodiversity: The property integrates nature into the city fabric via green roofs and seasonal perennial planting curated specifically to support local pollinators.

On the culinary front, the hotel introduces Whiteley’s Kitchen, Bar and Café. Specialising in modern British dining, the venue is poised to become an effortless neighbourhood constant, celebrating simple, beautifully executed seasonal pleasures.

Next-Generation Wellness: Longevity and Innovation

Spanning an impressive 2,300 square metres, the Six Senses London Spa represents a continuous, balanced flow between high-performance movement and restorative stillness. Engineered specifically to counteract the frantic energy of city living, the facility introduces state-of-the-art wellness technology directly to West London.

Key highlights of this groundbreaking wellness space include:

  • London’s First Hotel Magnesium Pool: A 20-metre indoor swimming pool utilizing the restorative properties of magnesium.

  • Advanced Recovery: Dedicated spaces for cryotherapy, flotation therapies, and a specialized Biohack Recovery Lounge.

  • Longevity Clinic & Alchemy Bar: Highly tailored treatments blending cutting-edge clinical science with natural, locally sourced ingredients.

Introducing ‘Six Senses Place’

A major first for the global brand, the property debuts Six Senses Place—a highly exclusive, private members’ concept. This unique ecosystem blends the signature Six Senses lifestyle with the natural rhythm of London, creating a private community space where like-minded individuals can connect, work, and experience high-tech wellness under one roof.

“Whether your visit is brief or you’re settling in, we want you to feel a genuine sense of belonging to the neighbourhood and community around you, with joy and care at the heart of it all.” — Nick Yarnell, General Manager

Strategic Growth and Legacy

The successful opening reflects a deep collaboration between IHG and prominent investment partners, including CC Land Holdings Ltd., Valouran, and Gruppo Statuto. By preserving the immense community legacy of London’s very first department store, the partnership elevates the entire Queensway district onto the global luxury stage.

Since IHG’s acquisition of Six Senses in 2019, the brand has grown to 27 open properties across 20 countries. The London debut follows successful urban openings in Rome and Kyoto, with a robust pipeline of future properties slated for Portugal, Japan, and Bangkok.

All IHG figures as of press release on 5 March 2026
