The Four Seasons Resort Bali at Jimbaran Bay and the Four Seasons Resort Bali at Sayan have officially welcomed Nicolas Laufrais as their new Senior Director of Commercial. In this dual-property role, Laufrais is set to oversee the integrated commercial strategy for both iconic Indonesian retreats, blending analytical rigour with a creative, human-centric approach to luxury hospitality.
A Career Defined by Luxury
Laufrais joins the Four Seasons team with over 15 years of high-level experience across revenue management, sales, and marketing within the international luxury sector. His deep familiarity with the Balinese market—most recently honed during his two-year tenure leading the commercial launch and positioning of the Regent Bali Canggu—makes him uniquely qualified to navigate the island’s evolving landscape.
His impressive professional trajectory includes significant leadership roles at the InterContinental Cascais-Estoril in Portugal, where he excelled at strengthening lifestyle positioning, and the Conrad Bora Bora Nui, where he solidified his expertise in the ultra-luxury resort segment. This background equips him with a sophisticated understanding of how to balance global brand standards with the authentic, localized storytelling required by the world’s most discerning travellers.
Connecting Through Emotion
For Laufrais, the commercial success of a property is intrinsically linked to its ability to evoke an emotional response. “Luxury travel today is about emotional resonance,” he notes. “My focus is to strengthen global positioning while ensuring each initiative reflects the authenticity, heritage and sense of connection that define these resorts.”
His remit involves crafting a unified strategy that celebrates the distinct “sense of place” inherent to each location:
-
Four Seasons Resort Bali at Sayan: Celebrated for its tranquil, spiritual atmosphere nestled along the Ayung River.
-
Four Seasons Resort Bali at Jimbaran Bay: Renowned for its immersive beachfront culture and refined coastal lifestyle.
By aligning commercial planning with the specific cultural and geographical character of each property, Laufrais aims to further elevate the profile of both resorts as essential destinations for those seeking the very best of Bali.
