St. Regis Hotels & Resorts has officially arrived in Hungary. The brand recently unveiled The St. Regis Budapest. Set within the iconic Klotild Palace, the property serves as a genuine architectural treasure. Furthermore, it represents a new chapter for luxury hospitality in the city. The hotel successfully blends historic grandeur with contemporary refinement. Therefore, guests can now enjoy signature St. Regis service in one of Europe’s most distinguished addresses.
A Legacy of Architecture
Notably, the Klotild Palace stands as a Neo-Baroque emblem of the Austro-Hungarian Golden Age. Princess Klotild of Saxe-Coburg and Gotha commissioned this twin palace over a century ago. Architects Flóris Korb and Kálmán Giergl designed the masterpiece. Furthermore, it once served as the ceremonial entrance to Pest for travellers crossing the Elisabeth Bridge.
Today, the property houses 63 rooms and 39 luxurious suites. Each guestroom concept draws inspiration from the Hungarian State Opera House. Designers envisioned these spaces as private theatre boxes. They are framed with city views and adorned with Art-Nouveau decorative techniques. Moreover, the interiors pay homage to the Danube River’s movement. Soft blue tones and fluid graphic patterns reflect the water. Indeed, the design creates a seamless narrative of elegance for modern travellers.
Culinary Art and Social Rituals
Social life centres around bespoke experiences. For instance, the St. Regis Bar features a stage-inspired layout. It showcases a stunning glass mural of an orchestra. Here, mixologist Norbert Tengely serves the “Crown Mary.” This cocktail pays homage to the palace’s royal roots. Additionally, the hotel offers the 99 Sushi Bar & Restaurant. It features a show kitchen and seasonal omakase experiences. Finally, the Klotild Patisserie brings French-Viennoiserie charm to a historic apothecary setting. Guests can also participate in brand rituals like Afternoon Tea and Champagne Sabrage.

Sanctuary and Wellness
The St. Regis Spa serves as an intimate sanctuary. It prioritises a merger of scientific innovation and traditional bathing culture. Furthermore, guests can enjoy a traditional hammam and Finnish sauna. The spa also partners with the luxury skincare brand Omorovicza. This partnership honours the city’s rich history of thermal baths. Consequently, visitors receive highly bespoke treatments. The space also includes a Celebration Bar for post-treatment relaxation. It is a perfect way to conclude a wellness journey.

A Convergence of History and Luxury
Leadership views the opening as a natural extension of the brand’s identity. George Fleck, Senior Vice President and Global Brand Leader, offered his thoughts. “The St. Regis Budapest stands as a remarkable expression of architectural heritage,” said Fleck. He further explained that the founding Astor family cherished places where culture and society converged. “Bringing the House of Astor to Klotild Palace is a natural extension of that legacy,” he noted. Ultimately, the property introduces legendary rituals to a new European capital.
