First Impression
My first-time experience combining two exotic experiences at Four Seasons Bali. From ocean living at Four Seasons Resort Bali at Jimbaran Bay to escape to a private sanctuary on the Ayung River at Four Seasons Resort Bali at Sayan. It was indeed an amazing experience and let the holiday begins!
The Architecture Design
At Four Seasons Sayan, the architecture is designed with locally-inspired experiences and rice bowl-shaped architecture set against the lush Ayung River Valley. On the other hand, Four Seasons Jimbaran Bay has unique architecture of its villa entrance to show the traditional Balinese village’s entrance with the narrow door that believes to prevent evil to come in.
The Villas' Interior Design
At Four Seasons Sayan, I stay at River view villa with intricately carved wood, locally sourced shells and traditional ikat fabric harmonize with the surrounding hillside’s rich greenery and rice terraces. At Four Seasons Jimbaran Bay, I stay at Premier Ocean View Villa which you can hide away in this discreet thatched-roof sanctuary inspired by a traditional Balinese courtyard house. Gaze out to the ocean from your poolside open-air bale. Both are incredible!
Spa and Wellness
At Four Seasons Sayan, I am in love with the Sacred Nap at Dharma Shanti Bale. It’s not just an afternoon relaxation but an air nap suspended from the ceiling of the bamboo Dharma Shanti Bale in an aerial silk hammock, literally cocooned in the tranquility of the Sayan Valley. Feel your entire body relax and rock gently to sleep in the womb-like cocoon far away from any disturbances. Deeply soothing and nurturing, this is a not-to-be-missed relaxation technique that will leave you feeling refreshed and recharged. At Four Seasons Jimbaran, I experienced the Baru Detox treatment at Healing Village Spa. I am so mesmerized by its citrus spiced oil and clay wrap. The chromotherapy that washes over me with a Vichy shower is definitely a must-try! End by a deep tissue massage to complete this powerful, sensory experience.
Dining Experience
At Four Seasons Sayan, you are invited to experience the Chef’s Table dinner at Sokasi, prepared personally by Sokasi Chef, this 7-course Balinese dinner features babi guiling suckling pig marinated with base genep thousand spice paste and spit-roasted for four hours, and bebek betutu whole duck slow roasted for 12. hours in a traditional underground clay pot oven. At Four Seasons Jimbaran , I’ll recommend experiencing the sunset cocktail followed by dinner at Sundara to experience unique customized dining concepts and Asian inspired menu. Both are delicious!

#TravelWithMalachi reasons to Experience Bali Twice The Magic at Four Seasons Bali:
Inspired by traditional Balinese architecture
All Villas are embracing local’s culture with each Jimbaran and Sayan has different feels. At Jimbaran Bay, each villa is housed in a private stone-walled courtyard featuring separate thatched-roof pavilions. While at Sayan, each villa is appointed with a mix of contemporary and Balinese décor, including rich teak furnishings and bold hand-loomed fabrics. Four Seasons Sayan is the only Bali hotel on the 2020 Condé Nast Gold List – takes you closer to the heart and soul of Bali.
The World’s Only Check-In By River Raft at Luxury Resort
Experience the beauty of the Sacred Ayung River and discover secluded sites with Four Seasons guided rafting adventure. This is really fun and truly a moment you will remember!
Evoke a sense of awareness, wellness and being
Combine authentic Balinese traditions, physical therapies, and energy healing to restore balance and harmony to your body’s key energy centers. For a moment I truly feel the Bali’s magic with Four Seasons’ team of healers’ expertise via rituals that honour timeless traditions and emerging spiritual awareness
Wonderful personalized activities
Not just garden and pools, it’s more than that! From floating breakfast to in-room dining, you are able to personalise your day. If you love outdoor activities, you are invited to embark on an adventure in a tropical enclave of the enchanted forest, vibrant paddy fields, winding river paths, and gardens… and that’s just at the Resort!
